The smile that crept to his face was one that would not be rivaled for a long while, and he jumped up in victory as the Master walked away. Nothing had fallen to pieces this time, and that was success in itself, but the fact he’d made the Master smile was all that much sweeter. But he had to be patient. He couldn’t rush it, and just maybe, he could fix this mess he’d dug himself into.

He’d half expected the man to start following him and when his scent didn’t continue along with him, he turned back to see what was delaying him only to see him jumping around like he’d won some prize. That turned the Master’s stomach. No matter how much he explained, no matter what he said, it would always be this was, wouldn’t it? The Time Lord sighed out before stepping towards home with heavy hearts.
