The Master frowned and pulled his hand away. “How do you know who I am?” he asked, immediately feeling the sense that he was supposed to live up to who he was supposed to be.
May 2012
Oh, well that’s just spectacular for the lot of you, isn’t it? Hopefully both versions of me are content with where you are now. How are you faring with the change, though?
I did a few things today that I’m not exactly proud of, and I can’t get away from him. He won’t leave me alone, and then Grey-faces came to his defense and completely ignored everything that I need. It’s all about you. You’ve trained the universe to be that way, and it really is yours. You won, and I lost, and there’s not really anything I can do about it. I suppose I should just be happy to be used, but it will take a definite adjustment.
As for feeling like you don’t belong anywhere, it’s horrid. Like a husk of a person just tumbling through the universe like a tumbleweed in an endless desert. Everything around you is either static or has somewhere to go, but I don’t. I have temporary places, but there’s this…. I feel hollow. Like I’m nothing anymore. Everything I was has just been chipped away from the inside and I just want it to stop.
You’re probably sick of hearing it aren’t you? Feel free to leave me alone and move on. You’ve made a good start with your Rose. Perhaps if you’re lucky you can get on your way before the real show begins.
Oh Rassilon it wanted to communicate. ”Sure, why not.” he told it, putting a sleeved hand where her fin was. He still wasn’t entirely sure why he was sent here. It was just a simple creature with a simple want.
Thank you, but that is your place. Perhaps I will stop by a bit later, but I thank you for your offer regardless of if I end up there or not.
Did you really? I suppose that’s something you’d do, but honestly it’s a rather idiotic thing. What were you trying to get away from?
I might have done some things, and now I’m stuck in this place. It used to feel so comforting and safe and it’s neither of those things now. At one time, it was the one place I had in this universe and it’s no longer mine. There’s not really anywhere for me is there? Just sort of here really.
The Master frowns at it, noting the scars and her incessant way of blocking his view. “What do you want?” he asked, looking at the fin on the glass.
Great, you can help me pack then. -The Master looks around and then back at the Doctor.- Looks like we’re about done. All that’s left to do is sell the place as is…. unless you want to go and give it to someone. If not I have some other person who might like it for a while.
Incredibly long day, lots of tiresome things, then an incredibly exhausting thing, and then the usual mid-afternoon consideration of offing myself followed by sitting around watching tele. What’s wrong with you?
Not unless you have a way for everything to start over in a completely different universe from day one, there’s not much you can do. You obviously wouldn’t come to just see me, so what do you want, Doctor?
-The Master watches her for a moment, then rolls his eyes and feels that his time is being wasted here. He moves to the other end of the glass and watches what is going on without ‘Karen’ in the way.-
-Honestly, this is the last person he’d want to see right now. The last thing he needed was to be set off again and snap at his Doctor. He’d leave as well and then where would he be?-
Doctor? -he asked, looking at him tiredly.-
A new life? Maybe a way to get rid of this headache?
I’m supposing that if I go, you’ll shut up about it. So fine, I’ll go.
-The Master goes to the bloody aquarium and uses the fucking ticket to get inside the damn place.-
Between meals? Obviously we’re talking about a child, an elderly, or an animal. Does it really look like I’m in the mood to go see any of those things right now?
Oh, yes! Completely all right! In fact, I think I’ll go do some gardening and then maybe skip around with some garden gnomes. -The Master rolled his eyes and then concentrated on the question he’d been asked.- I wouldn’t say that I was, no.
I don’t want to meet anyone and I don’t want ice cream. If I did, I could go get some and then put my own multicoloured sprinkles on it.
Why would anyone want to see me anyway.
Why should I go to the fucking aquarium? I’d have to get there, and then walk around with a bunch of other people with animals trapped behind panes of glass because Humans are trying to preserve their species. Things die, new things live.
The Master awoke on the floor with a crick in his neck and an arm that hd falle asleep. He forced himse o get up and find soemthing to do, because despite the ripples of pain cascading over his chest, anything that could ever truly happen it was always going to be that way. That had been proven.
So why bother moving or avoiding it if there was no true escape? No, he would remain here. He had no other place to go.
